I’m still here!
And I’ve updated my website (wow, that was looooong overdue)!!
‘Tis the time of year for weddings and I’m looking forward to sharing more regular updates.
While pulling this post together I was trying my best to summarize the day in a good paragraph or two. And that just wasn’t working. Because, really, there’s a lot to say about Krysten + Paul and what their day was. High school (middle school..?) sweethearts, all those years and all the stories leading up to this one day. A new beginning to something that started long ago.
I loved so many things:
their history together. that Paul’s father officiated the ceremony. Krysten’s tea-length dress. and that the strap of her left shoe consistently kept falling off her heel throughout the day. oh, she used 5 pillows for propping her neck while getting ready. and with a career in the dental field, she happily flossed for the camera. Paul’s sisters, and his sweet baby niece. his parent’s home looking out over the bay. their special time together in the bridal suite minutes after becoming husband & wife. tears, all around. their vows. that in typical fashion as most brides and grooms do, Krysten spent plenty of time on the dance floor and Paul with their friends on the sidelines… and that moment later in the evening when they met up at the bar — shared a few whispers, and then went their separate ways, meeting up again for one final dance. speaking of dances, singing their first dance song to each other (a number by Blind Pilot). family and friends and no wedding party. gluten & dairy free dessert bar (it was amazing!). that we were without a real plan as far as photos and doing a ‘first look’ up until almost a day before the wedding. (and if the photos below are not indication enough, the 1,100 or so others I’m sending their way will confirm without a doubt they made the right decision)
and many many (many!) more.
Krysten + Paul – it’s always an honor to shoot a day like yours, and that you chose me to document it means so much. Thank you for being so laid back, and so undeniably in love. Wishing you so much love and so many adventures for the future!
A very small preview of the things I mentioned above, and more:
