rebecca & chris | married | jamaica

You may remember these two.

You may find it more difficult to remember the thing that brought them together:  MySpace.

A simple hello, hundreds (thousands?) of emails exchanged, a first date… so many small pieces, all adding up to a big love.  A love declared for eternity on the island of Jamaica.

And like any day… any time in your life… any MARRIAGE, the rain came for a short time.

It rained.  And it rained.   And poured.

We waited it out.

…….  the thunder moved off, the sun moved in.

And there they stood before all those they love, making promises so familiar, so traditional… for a life ahead that will be all those things and so much more.  More than you could possibly imagine that moment.

May every dance of your marriage be as love filled as your first:

sarah & sean | denver wedding photographer

Sarah & Sean met as most couples do:  paths crossing at JUST the right moment — he, out celebrating a friend’s birthday and she, out celebrating the weekend.  A conversation was started and a short time later, they were sending off a text to mutual friends (their first picture together!) announcing they would be each others date to their upcoming wedding.

A couple years later, on a sunny Saturday in May, they were engaged in the place where they met.  They celebrated with Blue Moons, and a party that went into the early hours of the morning.  And it was another sunny Saturday, this time in April, that they were married.  A chic city wedding with an Irish influence.

These two could not be more perfect for each other:  sweet Sarah, with her soft voice and Southern accent… and Sean, one of the nicest guys you’ll ever be lucky enough to meet.   Their wedding day was beautiful… not only because of the cloudless sky and snow-topped Rockies in the distance, but because of the insane amount of love that filled it.

Sarah & Sean:  your wedding was INCREDIBLE, and your love for each other is something others should aspire to.  I hope you carry ‘Hey Jude’ with you for the rest of your lives, and forever feel the love that was circled tightly around you in those last moments of your day.  xo.

amber + rob | destination wedding | charlotte wedding photographer

Amber and Rob were married in Aruba on Saturday.

I’ve started and stopped this post over and over again, because I can’t quite find any grouping of words that could even begin to describe everything this day was, and everything they are as a couple.

Their love for each other is so apparent… the way she looks at him, the way he grabs her hand.  Their laughter, together.

We started early with the girls sipping on mimosas in a room looking out over aqua waters, the guys just down the hall, sipping on Crown Royal in a room with college football on the TV.  You could feel the excitement… everyone relaxed and ready.  This day 3 years in the making.

After their ‘first look’ and some drinks in the Lobby Bar… it was all aboard the Kukoo Kunuku bus and on the way to City Hall, making our way through the island streets, along the ocean, and to the steps of the place they would become Mr. & Mrs.  (The Queen of the Netherlands happened to be in town… and we came across her motorcade three different times throughout the day; she even gave a royal wave to the bride and groom!)

The afternoon continued in the much the same way they have always lived their love… she looking at him, he grabbing for her hand.  Laughing.

I hope this post captures even an OUNCE of what this day was:

Love filled.

and beyond fun.

Rob and Amber:  I love you both beyond words.  You could not have planned a more perfect destination wedding…

I hope you live the rest of your days taking a moment to remember what this one was all about.   xo.
